Playing with my wife, not multiboxing

Hello Everlook team, and thank you so much for keeping Vanilla alive.

I will be playing with my wife, or at least as long as she’s interested, so please don’t raise an eyebrow, because two accounts are active from the same IP.

That being said, I’m curious how much I potentially can or cannot use her account, before it qualifies as multiboxing.

If I log in on her acc, in order to give her character mage water, then log out and trade it back to my main, would that breach the terms, assuming I don’t do this when we are both playing? It’s really as far as I was planning to “take advantage” of both of us playing, cuz ret paladins do need that water.

Multiboxing is not allowed and refers to playing multiple characters simultaneously, regardless of whether this is done via 3rd party software, alt-tabbing between instances, or by running multiple machines.

The only exception is that you may have two characters of the same faction in any non-hostile city with an Auction House. This may not be used to gain an advantage in PvP situations.

Does this mean, that I could potentially do the mage water thing in Ironforge trading it to my wife’s character, then trading it back to my main? As alliance ofc

What does that mean? Mage water is free and you will trade it back to you? Thx for explaination.

Husband has mage, makes water, gives to wife’s character, who then gives to his paladin.

OP, pretty sure that is just fine. If however you have one of her characters grouped and on follow out and about, fully expect a ban hammer.

The idea is to trade it to one of my other characters, as I start up a play session.

You already quoted the important part of the ToU.

This means as long you have both characters in a non-hostile city with an action house, you are absolutely fine. If your wife is playing the second character, it doesn’t matter. Multiboxing only applies if you as a person are playing/controlling two (or more) characters at the same time.

Aight but why is the auction house part important? How about, say, controlling two characters in a non hostile city like goldshire or crossroads

Those are not cities.

Best advice would be to simply not do it. If you have to ask, or lawyer about it, it is likely vorboten.
