Just try logging in, if you can create a character name-reservation is still up.

You can still make one character before launch but if the name is taken you will have to choose another one.
EDIT: They are doing maintenance before launch so you may not be able to log in right now.
Just found out that yahoo, while working for the website, apparently doesn’t work for the client?
Edit: Nope, changed to gmail, validated and still not working
